Yesterday I was talking to my best friend Yvonne,
the one who knows me the best in the world.
Both of us, for more than 10 years we've been studied voice.
I used to dream to sing some nice little girls or princess character.
But in the long history of the music opera,
most of the composers wrote these lovely characters only for soprano.
I'm not, I'm a mezzo-soprano.
Sometimes when Yvonne said "Hey, I was practicing Juiliette yesterday."
And I'd say "Oh, I've sung your boyfriend Romeo before."
Or maybe when she said: " I am practicing some Handel characters."
I'd say: "Oh, I've played your husbands."
Even though I really love to play the cute lovely women.
But most of the opera composers in the history wrote mezzosoprano as:
servants, bad women, old women or men.
That's we mezzosoprano or contralo's destiny.
昨天我在和我最好的朋友林姊聊天
她是全世界最懂我的人
我們兩個都已經在聲樂的世界裡混了十年以上
我從前曾經夢想過唱一些可愛的小女生或是公主一類的腳色
可是在這漫長的歌劇史上
大部分的作曲家只把這些美麗的腳色寫給了女高音
而我不是 我是一個次女高音
有時候林姊會說 "嘿 我昨天在練茱麗葉 (之類的)"
我就只好說 "喔  我唱過羅密歐"
或者是她說 "嘿  最近我的功課是一些韓德爾的歌劇"
我便說 "喔 我以前練過你的老公們"
雖然我真的很想唱唱看這些可愛的小色
無奈歌劇作曲家們大抵上都將次女高音寫成:
僕人, 壞女人, 老女人, 或男人
這就是我們次女高音或女中音的命運啦!
