The chorus which I work in is going to play the opera "Turandot" next month.
Turandot is written by Puccini and it's a chinese story.
It talks about a beautiful chinese princess who hated every men in the world cuz
she wanted to take the revenge for her grandmathoer.
And she killed every single man who came to look for her.
But she finally surrendered for the love and changed her mind.
The composer used the chinese folk song "Jasmine", all of the chinese or taiwanese
who study the music for sure know about it.
That day I was talking to my colleague, she's an sicilian.
"Hey, you know the melody of Turant is coming from our folk song."
"Really??" she was so surprised...
